11th Food Analyst Examination 2025 Instructions

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR 11th FOOD ANALYST EXAMINATION (11th FAE) 2025

1. Submission of Application:

  1. Applications must be submitted online only.
  2. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be considered.

2. Name and Details:

  1. Ensure that the first, middle, and last names of applicant are mentioned correctly.
  2. The name on the Application Form should match exactly with the name on academic and experience documents.
  3. In case of a name change (e.g., after marriage), valid supporting documents (e.g., Marriage Certificate) must be uploaded at the time of application submission.
  4. No changes are allowed after submission.

3. Eligibility Criteria:

The online applications are invited from candidates possessing essential educational qualifications and 3 years’ experience in terms of sub-rule (ii) of Rule 2.1.4 of Food Safety and Standards (First Amendment) Rules, 2022.

4. Essential Educational Qualification:

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in:

  • Chemistry
  • Biochemistry
  • Microbiology
  • Dairy Chemistry
  • Agriculture Science
  • Animal Science
  • Fisheries Science
  • Biotechnology
  • Food Safety or Food Technology
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Dairy Technology
  • Oil Technology
  • Veterinary Sciences

From a university established in India by law or as an associate of the Institution of Chemists (India) by examination in the section of Food Analysts conducted by the Institution of Chemists (India).

5. Essential Experience:

The candidate should possess not less than three years’ experience in the analysis of food in any institution/research institution/research laboratory after attaining the minimum essential academic qualification specified above for 11th FAE 2025.

6. Age Limit:

No upper age limit for appearing in the 11th FAE 2025.

7. Educational Qualification and Experience:

  1. No relaxation in educational qualifications or experience is permissible.
  2. Documents or proof of prescribed educational qualifications include scanned copies of original degree certificates or Provisional Degree Certificates (mark sheets will not be accepted).
  3. Experience for the FAE should not be less than three years in food analysis at recognized institutions or research laboratories.
  4. Experience will be calculated from the date of graduation until the closing date of application.
  5. Experience gained before or after this period, and during academic programmes (e.g., Post Graduate, Doctoral Programme), will not be considered.
  6. Candidates are required to select the applicable discipline (Chemical or Biological) while filling out the application form for the Computer Based Test (CBT) as well as for the Practical Examination. Once discipline selected, it cannot be changed till completion of examination.

8. Examination Fee:

  1. Fee: ₹2500/- (plus GST) for the Computer Based Test (CBT) and ₹5000/- (plus GST) for Practical Examination. The fee should be submitted through online mode which is non-refundable.
  2. The examination fee must be paid online. Fees submitted through any other modes will not be accepted.

9. Examination Centre:

The candidates may give option to select the examination centre in order of preference while filling the online form; however, FSSAI reserves the right to select or change centres based on availability and administrative considerations.

10. Pre-Qualified Junior Analysts:

Pre-qualified Junior Analysts with the requisite experience (not less than three years) can directly appear for the Practical Examination.

11. Application and Examination Process:

  1. Submission of an application does not guarantee certification. Candidates must ensure that they meet all prescribed eligibility criteria.
  2. No scrutiny of documents will be done before conducting the CBT and Practical Examination.
  3. All the candidates will be allowed to appear in CBT. The candidate’s documents will be verified only after completion and evaluation of practical examination.
  4. The FSSAI is not liable for any issues arising from insufficient qualifications or experience. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to verify their eligibility. Fees are non-refundable in such cases.
  5. Document Verification: The name on academic and experience documents must exactly match the name provided in the application form.
  6. All documents must be uploaded at the time of application. No further revisions or re-submissions are allowed.
  7. The documents submitted by the candidate will be verified after the completion and evaluation of practical examination only.
  8. Reservation: There is no reservation applicable in whatsoever form since this is not for employment.
  9. All candidates who qualify CBT will be allowed to appear in Practical Examination.
  10. The results of the CBT and Practical examinations will be published on the examination portal. Candidates may access their results by logging into the portal using their credentials.

12. Answer Key Accessibility and Challenging:

  1. The answer key along with the question paper of the CBT will be made available on the examination portal after the completion of the CBT.
  2. Candidates may access the Question Paper and Answer Key and submit challenges, if any, within the prescribed period from the date of availability of the Answer Key on the portal, using their candidate login credentials. A non-refundable fee of ₹100/- per question shall be charged for each challenge submitted.

13. Two Weeks Mandatory Food Analyst Training:

  1. The personal, academic, and experience documents of candidates who qualify the practical examination will be subjected to scrutiny.
  2. Only those candidates who qualified the practical examination and fulfill all prescribed eligibility criteria will be eligible to undergo the mandatory two-week Food Analyst Training at the venue decided by FSSAI.
  3. All training-related expenses shall be borne by the FSSAI.
  4. Candidates who successfully complete the Food Analyst Training shall be issued Food Analyst Certificates by hand at the FSSAI Training Centres.

14. Responsibility and Liability:

  1. FSSAI is not responsible for any expenses incurred by candidates who qualify the examination (CBT/Practical) but do not meet the eligibility criteria.
  2. All educational qualifications must be attained from recognized institutions.

15. FSSAI Rights:

  1. FSSAI reserves the right to call only those candidates deemed most eligible and to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason.
  2. The decision of FSSAI regarding eligibility, shortlisting, conduct of examination, declaration of results, and certification shall be final and binding. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
  3. Any form of canvassing will lead to disqualification of the candidature.
  4. Admission to the examination is purely provisional. If, at any stage, a candidate is found not to meet the prescribed eligibility conditions, their candidature shall be cancelled and the fees forfeited.
  5. FSSAI reserves the right to disqualify or reject candidates found indulging in any malpractice or misconduct during the CBT, practical examinations, or training.
  6. FSSAI does not provide previous years’ question papers due to confidentiality. However, the question paper of the 7th FAE, 2021 is available on the FSSAI website to help candidates understand the examination pattern.
